Cake Design
Your cake baker is Barbara Vogt, a second generation chef with years of experience and a gift for design and decoration – from traditional to contemporary.
You can choose a design from our wedding cake photo album or work with Barbara to design something new. Come see our wedding cake album at the bakery during business hours or you may also view our on-line gallery for your selection (more selections are available in Tahoe House location album).
Ingredients
At the Tahoe House, wedding cakes are “from scratch,” using real eggs, butter, flour, cream and the best seasonal fruit from the farmer’s market. Our chocolate and fruit preserves are imported from Switzerland. Only the best will do!
Reservations
Barbara makes all Tahoe House wedding cakes personally and her time is therefore limited. Your early reservation will assure you of the time and personal attention necessary to craft the cake of your dreams. Your wedding date is booked when you have paid a $100.00 deposit and provided all the necessary details. Please call 10 days before your wedding to confirm.
The Bakery
The Tahoe House has been family owned and operated by the Vogt family since 1977. We have recently added a full line of ready-made meals to-go and we have expanded our line of gourmet foods. Consider us for your after-wedding breakfast pastries or takeout sandwiches for a picnic.
Your Wedding Cake
For design selections, please ask to see our extensive wedding cake album. Bakery Hours are 6 am to 4 pm Sunday – Thursday, 6 am – 6 pm Friday and Saturday. If you would like to make a tasting appointment, contact Barbara at (530) 583-1377. Tasting appointments are scheduled Tuesday – Saturday on the hour from 10 am to 2 pm depending on availability. From May 15 – October 15 appointments are available Tuesday – Thursday. Friday and Saturday are available only if wedding cake production permits.

I’m getting married next January and I’m trying to find someone who would make pies for my wedding. Do you make pies and if you do, what kinds? Thank you.
My fiance and I came up to check out venues and services for our Aug. 11th wedding, which will be in Meeks Bay. I was informed by your gracious staff that on that particular day that the baker will only commit to baking one cake for that date. I am interested in the cake #439, the pine cone and redwood/greenery decorations that you display on a tree round. I would like to reserve a two tier cake to serve 25 guests for $215. We will also all a dessert assortment. We do not need delivery or a tree round base. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
