At the Tahoe House, wedding cakes are "from scratch," using real eggs, butter,
flour, cream and the best seasonal fruit from the farmer's market. Our chocolate and
fruit preserves are imported from Switzerland. Only the best will do!

Reservations
|
Barbara makes all Tahoe House wedding cakes personally and her time is therefore
limited. Your early reservation will assure you of the time and personal attention
necessary to craft the cake of your dreams. Your wedding date is booked when you have
paid a $100.00 deposit and provided all the necessary details. Please call 10 days
before your wedding to confirm.

The Bakery
The Tahoe House has been family owned and operated by the Vogt family since
1977. We have recently added a full line of ready-made meals to-go and we have
expanded our line of gourmet foods. Consider us for your after-wedding
breakfast pastries or takeout sandwiches for a picnic.

Wedding cake flavors and pricing
Your Wedding Cake…
For design selections, please ask to see our extensive wedding cake album. Bakery
Hours are 6 am to 4 pm Sunday – Thursday, 6 am – 6 pm Friday and
Saturday. If you would like to make a tasting appointment, contact Barbara at (530)
583-1377. Tasting appointments are scheduled Tuesday - Saturday on the hour from 10
am to 2 pm depending on availability. From May 15 – October 15 appointments are
available Tuesday – Thursday. Friday and Saturday are available only if wedding
cake production permits.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Ribbon for Wedding Cake Border: If you would like to have a
ribbon trim on your wedding cake, please keep the following in mind: The ribbon needs
to be provided by the bride or the florist. For butter cream iced round cakes please
provide a satin/fabric type ribbon without wire. Square butter cream iced cakes: you
may provide a wired ribbon or a satin/fabric ribbon. Stiff ribbons will have to be
cut to trim a square cake. Ask Barbara for details. For butter cream cakes, keep in
mind that the ribbon color will get darker when it is put on the cake. You may want
to choose a shade or two lighter than the color you actually want. Rolled fondant
iced cakes: any ribbon you like will work on rounds, wired is preferred on square.
Ribbon will not change color on fondant cakes.
Cake Flavor Changes: as long as your new choice is listed on
Tahoe House’s flavor choices, there is no problem. Just let us know that there
is a change by the 14 day confirmation of your wedding cake. If you would like to ask
about something that is not on the list, be sure to contact Barbara as soon as
possible. The high altitude and remote location of Lake Tahoe sometimes limits
special requests.
Delivery or Location Changes:
We coordinate other wedding cakes and delivery timing based on what you tell us about
your event. If you change at the last minute, we may be unable to deliver your cake.
Please contact us as soon as you know there is a change, and we will make every
effort to accommodate you.
Design Changes:
If you change your mind on the design on the wedding cake, be sure to check with
Barbara right away. Not all designs pictured on the internet and in magazines can be
duplicated by us. There are often ingredients that must be ordered far in advance, or
features that are custom made by specialized pastry chefs. We want you to be happy
with the design of your cake.
Finalization:
Please call us a minimum of 14 days prior to your wedding to confirm your order. At
that time we will need a final guest count and confirmation of all details. It is
very difficult for us to track you down as it gets closer to your wedding, so it is
important that you contact us. Barbara is generally available Tuesday - Saturday.
Between 9 am and 2 pm are the best times to call. If you do not contact us by 7 days
prior to the wedding, we will attempt to contact you. If we cannot reach you, we will
make the cake that is specified on the contract. For our planning, scheduling and
ordering purposes, flavor and size of cake can only be changed 1 week or more before
the wedding.
Cancellation Policy:
It is the policy of the Tahoe House to refund wedding cake deposits if the
cancellation is 90 days prior to the date. We understand that plans change and
unforeseen problems occur. In the instance of a cancellation made less than 90 days
in advance the purchaser forfeits the deposit.
